Looking for things to do in Sault Ste. Marie this fall? The Harvest Community BBQ is back! Join us on Friday, September 25, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Harvest Algoma, 446 Second Line E., for an evening of family-friendly activities, great food and plenty of reasons to make new memories together.

Whether you’re looking to try something new, spend time with family and friends, or simply enjoy an autumn evening with the community, there will be something for everyone.

Admission and all activities are free! BBQ food and drinks will be available for purchase separately at the event.

What’s happening at the BBQ?

🏹Archery Range. Ever wanted to channel your inner Robin Hood? Arrows in Motion will be back with an archery range where guests can test their skills and try something new.

🎨Face Painting. Little ones — and anyone else feeling creative — can stop by the face-painting station and become their favourite animal, character or colourful creation.

🍎Apple Cider Station. Nothing says fall quite like apple cider! Stop by the cider station to see how fresh apples are transformed into one of the season’s favourite treats.

🍭Cotton Candy and Popcorn. Enjoy free fluffy cotton candy from Fallen Leaves and grab a bag of popcorn prepared by Harvest Algoma volunteers while you explore the festivities.

🫧Chalk and Bubbles. Kids can add their own colourful artwork to the celebration with sidewalk chalk or fill the air with bubbles.

More entertainment and family-friendly activities will be announced as details are confirmed.

Come hungry!

The planned BBQ menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages and vegetarian kebabs, along with potato and macaroni salads, prepackaged desserts and drinks.

Gather around Algoma’s Longest Picnic Table

Algoma’s Longest Picnic Table will return as a centrepiece of this year’s celebration. Last year, the table reached an incredible 108 feet. This year, Harvest Algoma is inviting the community to help make it even longer.

Every $20 donation sponsors one additional foot of the table and helps cover the cost of the materials needed to extend it. During the BBQ, guests will also have an opportunity to take home a six-foot section of Algoma’s Longest Picnic Table with a recommended minimum donation of $120.

Why join us?

The Harvest Community BBQ is about more than food and activities. It’s an opportunity to come together, celebrate the harvest season and make memories with friends, neighbours and loved ones.

Funds raised through food and drink sales and donations will support Harvest Algoma’s ongoing food rescue and food security initiatives across the Algoma District.

So bring your family, bring your friends and bring your appetite for fall fun. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
