When two food rescue organizations work together, a lot of good food can go a long way. A major food delivery arrived at Harvest Algoma today, bringing approximately 31,000 pounds of rescued food from Second Harvest to our Centre de ressources alimentaires in Sault Ste. Marie.
The shipment is now being unloaded, sorted, and prepared for redistribution through Harvest Algoma’s network of community partners, helping move good food to the people and organizations who need it most.
Large deliveries like this are an important part of Harvest Algoma’s work. By redirecting surplus food that can still be safely used, we help reduce food waste while supporting food security across the Algoma region.
This 31,000-pound delivery is also a strong reminder of how important partnerships are to our work. We’re incredibly grateful to Second Harvest for helping keep good food moving and making sure it reaches communities instead of going to waste.
