This weekend, tables across Algoma will be filled with food that came through the Harvest Algoma warehouse. In just one week, 26,581 lbs of food came through our doors.
A Second Harvest truck brought 9,200 lbs of fresh produce. Rome’s sent dairy, vegetables and meat, while COBS and Tuomos helped keep our shelves stocked with bread.
By Monday afternoon, 13,798 lbs of food had gone back out to 39 agencies across Algoma — enough for about 11,500 meals.
That food is now helping community food programs and food banks across the region, including the Salvation Army Food Bank, St. Vincent Place, and food banks in Thessalon, Echo Bay and Bruce Mines.

And the work doesn’t stop there. Two more skids are on their way to the Elliot Lake Food Bank and the Blind River Food Bank, and we’ll be heading to Wawa next week.
You helped make that possible. Thank you. We’re grateful for everyone who has supported Harvest Algoma this year and helped get good food to the people and communities who need it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Harvest Algoma is now officially a registered charity, marking an exciting milestone in our work to rescue and redistribute surplus food throughout the Algoma district.
